Hello. Moved my project here from discord. I recently (6 hours ago, lol) moved a zillion (too many) scripts into folders, and so i have to start re-assigning everything. I'm gonna be busy this week, so wanted to get this done before the weekend. The stuff I post for now, will just be stuff I already posted in the project discord. sorry bout that!

About this game

It's a spooky Zelda and Resident Evil Mish Mash.
I Started this project in 2020 on RPG Maker VX Ace, before I started it over on RIAB when I got it for free on epic.
This was originally a birthday present for my husband, but now I'm making it for (hopefully) our Anniversary in October.
This project forum is mostly just to help me not procrastinate, (and I am really good at that! 😆 )

You've met a terrible fate, haven't you?

Your game looks great! Are you going to share it publicly, or is it going to be private to your family only?

Just for family! At least for now anyways.
The main reason being, there are some puzzles that would probably be very difficult to solve if you weren't my husband. 😆

as an example: There's one puzzle where he literally has to go around our house in real life to find clues! 😂

Last week, I started working on this model:

And, I quickly realized, that this attach point approach (while it would get the job done eventually) would take too long, and I'd probably lose my mind before I got it done. 😆
So I've decided to dabble in Blockbench. Here are my first attempts.

    1st attempt

    2nd attempt

Definitely not the best things ever, lol. But I think I'm starting to get the hang of it.
The animating is super easy, (which I love!), just gotta get used to the "Modelling part". 😂
I think I'll probably be spending the next week or so, practicing!

That looks pretty nice. I don't know how to use Blockbench yet, but I am looking forward to when animations are supported for it. I'll probably make a point to start learning it when that happens.

Also, unrelated, but if you don't mind sharing, I am very curious as to what the story for this game is. I completely understand if you'd rather not disclose.

Thanks! I thought this plugin here made animations work
      https://rpginabox.com/forum/d/492-blockbench-importing-with-community-plugin/18
But maybe I am understanding wrong. 😅

As for the story, I plan on releasing playthrough videos of the game as I finish chapters. : )
I'm almost done with Chapter 0, I just need to re-assign all the scripts I moved into folders, finish a few key features, (a mini game, and some hidden events), and finish: the architecture of one of my maps. : )
edit: oh, and an intro credits 😆
Hopefully, blockbench will make my progress way faster! 😄

It's funny you say that, because I have thought about using BlockBench
to help me with a Minecraft Comic I'm working on. 😅

I'm really looking forward to your game too!
Has Resident evil style, I like the fixed changing cameras I was already thinking about making a role playing game in this style similar to ff7.

Don't got much to show, but still wanted to post something for my Birthday today, (before 12 AM hits 😂 )
Decided I would share some music with you.

Had to figure out video size, and quality, ended up just posting it on YT lol.

Quick note about the song 'The Office': for one of the 'instruments'(?) I borrowed a snippet from the song Abyss Gaze by Filmmaker
          I recommend you check it out. it's a good song! : )

Here are some time stamps. Let me know which one is your favorite! : )
