Here comes the villagers
Some time ago I already created some villagers and showed them in a dev log. Not all of them are animated yet, because this is very time consuming and not very diversified. But I'm always working on it a little bit.

Dialogues drive the story forward
A large part of the story behind RŌNIN is told through dialogues with the various inhabitants of Ronin. A first draft of the dialogue system is finished.

A long rocky road to an own font
To avoid legal problems, I set out to create my own font. Had I known beforehand what was coming, I probably would have refrained. After an initial attempt to trace letters with a calligraphy brush, I discarded this approach because the result threw up various errors when converted to a TTF file. In the end, I used geometric objects in Inkscape and reworked them in FontForge for the TTF file. Not perfect but my own font 😉

♤|SODA|♤ I will never give up on RŌNIN. However, Labyrinth is a much less complex project with a manageable scope for learning...at least that was the case at the beginning 😉 I will be able to reuse a lot for Ronin.

Skill tree for the schools of sword, defence and body
I have built a skill tree around the existing skills. Currently this consists of three simple skill paths. This allows you to learn additional combat skills that can be used in combat via a quickbar or key binding.

Let's loot and go shopping
As a further step for the game mechanics I integrated item containers for looting and a simple shop. Here I chose a generic approach for filling the item containers and shop. When opening an item container or visiting a shop for the first time, the available items are randomly selected.

Who are you and what have you got with you?
For an overview of character values and inventory in RŌNIN, there is the classic RPG feature - a character window. The quest overview and skill tree can be accessed from here.

There must be a fast travel function!
A world map in RŌNIN allows you to travel to places you have already visited. This saves a lot of walking.

BearBarney In the broadest sense, yes. There will be different regions that will be represented specifically to RIAB in different maps.

♤|SODA|♤ Thank you very much. Since I'm not so good at drawing, I tried to realise a scene with the RIAB in-game graphics. Then some image editing and that's it 😃
