In the meantime, just to let you know you can use subfolders with RIAB currently.
Most assets work with folders set within the main asset folders..eg
tiles/ground
tiles/walls
characters/enemies
scripts/map1
dialogues/quest_1
The only asset that does not work with subfolders is Maps.
With scripts it's important to make sure the following files are moved into the subfolder:
- SCN file (the main script asset)
- SCRIPT (the source code that RIAB visual editor uses)
- PARSED (the compiled code that quick play uses)
Without the PARSED file, the game will error that it can't find the script.
Easy enough to fix if you do end up missing some parse files:
open the script in RIAB and re-save/compile it.
It will then compile to the new location.
However, as long as you grab all three file types for each script (scn, script and parsed)[you can grab the backups too but not essential] you won't need to do any re-saving.
The only downside is that, while RIAB will recognise and allow the use of folders, the scripts will need to be reassigned to the entities/events, but from the new locations.
Example image below (had to reassign Strange_Chest back to container upon launching RIAB)
As you can see, I placed it inside a subfolder (Test2).
Anyway, just thought i'd make you aware subfolders do work technically.
Just not possible to do it within RIAB itself yet.
