This may sound very niche, but also extremely useful if it existed.
It would be handy if print($var)
or print(global.property[])
would return both the value, but also the data type, if possible.
For example:
print($var);
would return true (string)
or true (bool)
Took me ages to diagnose why a boolean property set to true was not firing the condition properly...later to find out the UI script node was making it "true", not true (string, not bool).
So much time could have been saved if print had also told me it was a string of the word true, not actually a boolean value.
Either that, or could print when its a string actually enclose it in "" in the console?
