NPC free movement will definitely be coming - either in or before 2.0.
Marching cubes can be previewed in the editor by clicking the "Preview Game Mesh" button on the toolbar. It's not real-time since you need to switch into that view, but I thought it might be helpful to mention!

Could you provide some more details around the "2D angle setting" that's mentioned?
