I want to start by saying that i'm not sure if this is a bug or just a misunderstanding of how Grid movement projectiles should function.

Briefly describe the issue you're experiencing:
A Free Movement projectile setup (fired from a ranged weapon item) that works while in Free Movement will not work in Grid. The projectiles pass straight through both wall tiles and wall objects, and an On Hit script will not return $target on an object or tile.

I have provided a fully documented project (display_messages on startup) that walk you through how to see the issue and setup.
Essentially:
- create an item that fires a projectile object
- equip it in a Grid map
- free fire it at a tile or object
Provide a download link to the bare bones project (strongly recommended if it's an in-game issue, since this helps significantly when attempting to reproduce it; the report will also be given more priority in this case):
