I've been playing around on the software for a few days now. I've went through a ton of tutorials and I feel like I'm starting to get a grip on things. I can script doors, levers, and many other features involving the world map. That is awesome. It is a wonderful program so far when it comes to these things and my imagination can really go with what can be possible. I'm fine with animations and creating effects. I feel like this is all very intuitive and more than enough for making a game that I want to play in my free time.
On the other side, I have no idea what is going on with combat. I. I wanted to set up a game where stats leveled up independently of one another. If I use a sword then a martial stat increases. If I use a bow then an archery skill increases. The same for magic and a few crafting skills, and whatever else. After spending a few hours on it tonight I cannot for the life of me figure out how to set up an independent stat leveling system. I see how to level up. I see how attributes are increased by leveling up, but character level is something I want to avoid. I'm hoping there is a tutorial somewhere that I missed or a page in the documentation or somewhere on this website to explain how to do what I am looking for.
