š¢ Community Spotlight Update - Temporary Hiatus
Hey Everyone!
As some of you may have noticed, there is currently no spotlight event running this month.
Iāve decided to put the monthly Spotlights on temporary hiatus until the New Year.
Augustās spotlight was a huge success with lots of amazing contributions , however both the September and the October "Halloween" Spotlight have had much lower involvement.
Since these videos take a fair bit of time and commitment to produce each month, it just doesnāt balance out with the current level of participation.
But...don't worry - they're not going away permanently!
For now though, I have decided to put them on temporary hiatus which will allow for two things:
.Give the community a bit more time to work on and grow their projects a bit more.
.Give me some time to figure out how Spotlights should be structured moving forward.
I just need some time to plan out the best direction for when we bring them back.
š About the "Halloween" Spotlight
The Halloween spotlight was a fun experiment and a nice change from the usual format ā creating something specifically for the event, whether it was a screenshot or a short video, of a model or scene.
I really liked the more casual ājust make something for the themeā vibe.
Iām considering keeping these "special event" Spotlights going for key events (kind of like mini game jams, but way lower commitment since you donāt need a full game ā just a themed image or video).
If so, "Christmas" will be next month's one.
However, Iāll only keep these going if thereās enough interest.
I am running a vote on the community discord server to gauge community interest, and so far the consensus is leading towards YES.
As a result, there may be a "Christmas" event next month similiar to the "Halloween" one last month.
If so, I will announce it on here soon so stay tuned.
