**Music** is a simple way to add life into your game. RPG in a Box currently requires files in the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vorbis|Ogg Vorbis]] format for music playback. To import music into your game project, you can use the [[Import Resources]] tool, or simply drag and drop the desired .ogg file(s) onto the application window from an external file browser.

[[http://www.audacityteam.org/download|Audacity]] is a free audio editor that supports exporting to the Ogg Vorbis format. If your music is saved in a different format, you can use Audacity to convert them into .ogg files.

At this time, music can be used in a few different scenarios:
  * Background track for each [[map]]. See [[Map Properties]].
  * Background track for your game's [[Main Menu]]. See [[Main Menu Editor]].
  * Background track for your game's credits. See [[Credits Editor]].
